Arkansas Storm Team Forecast: A break from the rain today!

TODAY: Our seemingly endless rainy and stormy weather finally comes to an end today. A small area of high pressure will bring us mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures for your Thursday. Afternoon temperatures will rise to the mid to above 80s with a 5-10 northeast wind. It will be a great day to do all the outdoor chores.

TONIGHT: Tonight we will see increasing amounts of cloud before our next and final round of storms. Most Arkansans will stay dry overnight with rain remaining through Friday morning. Temperatures will drop to the mid-60s.

FRIDAY: Showers and thunderstorms will be widespread to start the day. There is a level 2 out of 5 risk for severe weather. Like the last series of thunderstorms, small hail and damaging winds are the main threat.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK: In the long term forecast, a very large area of high pressure will be under control. This will bring more sunshine and higher temperatures. I’m concerned about dangerous heat for the second half of the weekend and into next week.
