Law enforcement is looking for 2 youths who left Jonesboro Institution

(LITTLE ROCK, Ark.) — Two teenagers in the custody of the Department of Human Services (DHS) Division of Youth Services (DYS) left a facility in Jonesboro without permission Sunday night. Local law enforcement has been notified and is looking for the youths.

Arkansas Code Annotated 9-28-215 requires DYS to provide identifying information to the public about youths who leave DYS custody without permission if the youth “is in the custody of the Division of Youth Services for an offense that would be a felony if the offense had been committed by an adult.”

Gary Fields, 16, has brown hair and hazel eyes, weighs 120 pounds and is 5ft 1in tall. He was detained by the DYS for rape and theft of property.

James Williams, 16, has brown hair and hazel eyes, weighs 174 pounds and is 6 feet tall. He was detained by DYS on charges of second-degree sexual assault, aggravated assault of a family or household member, and breaking and entering.

Williams and Fields were reported missing from Consolidated Youth Services in Jonesboro around 10:30 p.m. The center provides services to youth in the custody of DYS.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact local authorities.
