Mount Nebo State Park | Discover Arkansas

Mount Nebo State Park is known for its breathtaking views and is easy to get to, being an hour and 20 minutes from downtown Little Rock.

DARDANELLE, Ark. – After taking a few years off to explore Arkansas, Adam Bledsoe is back in the driver’s seat. This time around, her first destination is back at one of her favorite Arkansas state parks.

Mount Nebo State Park is known for its breathtaking views and is easy to get to, being an hour and 20 minutes from downtown Little Rock. Head west on the 40 from Conway and head towards Dardanelle, and from there you are minutes from the park.

First stop, going to the top of Mount Nebo is the sign for a photo op, then to the bench for another photo.

Once at the top of Mount Nebo, you notice the campground, capable of handling RVs or primitive camping. Be warned, if you are towing a trailer, you cannot exceed 24 feet in length.

During the summer months, campers can enjoy the swimming pool with a beautiful view. At the end of the evening, nothing beats the smell of a campfire while enjoying a cup of coffee and a smore.

Adam was able to meet Mt. Nebo State Park interpreter, Jackie Rupp, who took him on an adventure to discover a waterfall. The trip only took about 15 minutes.

Along the way, Jackie related archeological facts about the area as well as names of trees and plants. Jackie offers guided tours of the waterfall, which can be found at the Mount Nebo State Park Visitor Center.

He also showed us an area to be discovered only by mountain bikers.

Mount Nebo State Park is on the growing list of places in Arkansas to shred and send mountain biking. Twenty-five miles of mountain bike trails are sure to grab the attention of those looking for a thrilling state park tour.
